Cybertruck to Launch in the Fall of 2023?
The latest release timeframe for Cybertruck points to a launch in early fall, giving early deposit holders a more up-to-date timeframe.
Elon Musk iterated during the latest Tesla financial results that Cybertruck should launch “probably” and “around” Q3 of this year.
By all means that should equate to an official launch event in September, narrowly missing the initial summer timeline and potentially meeting an early fall window.
Tesla is currently in the process of testing what are being considered as “alpha” prototypes of Cybertruck, featuring design characteristics such as a tentative windshield wiper that could still become more innovative on the production version.
Cybertruck will be Tesla’s first volume-positioned vehicle with cost-saving, next-generation 4680 battery cells which Tesla is prioritizing for further cost reduction and in-house production capacity.
Final pricing and specifications will likely be reserved for the handover event planned for Q3, where Musk will deliver the first top-configuration Cybertruck vehicles.
Real Talk
While we are confident that Cybertruck won’t disappoint as it was referred to multiple times as a “hall-of-fame product,” we would advise deposit holders and its many enthusiasts that Musk’s surrounding verbiage makes a characteristic delay to Q4 and potentially even the end of the year possible.
Then following that there’s still the ever-important volume ramp, which makes any sort of tangible production volumes for Cybertruck unlikely until the end of 2024 or 2025.
As Model Y has become the best-selling vehicle in the United States beyond pickup trucks, we do believe the market for Cybertruck is substantial and by all projections should eventually take the title of best-selling vehicle globally.
Deposit holders that are planning to purchase any configuration other than the top-spec version should plan to take delivery several years in the future.
